The Locket

Miniatures.jpg

Inspired by the Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through attraction inside the corridors of Disneyland's castle, stop motion film sets, and the Thorne Miniature Rooms of the Art Institute of Chicago, I decided in 2015 to embark on a new kind of project, using a series of miniature rooms to tell an original classic-style fairy tale. The story was broken into three key scenes in which each item was carefully crafted by hand in one-seventh scale. The result is three miniature room sets that illustrate the story of "The Locket".  The scenes are part of the larger multimedia exhibition "magic lanterns • ghost stories and fairytales" which also includes paintings, a music soundtrack (see music section) and a book of ghost stories (available in the shop).
