Blue Boy Guitar

This special guitar is something I made from scratch together with my dad when I was just 15 years old; and from the times that I used it onstage in bands … to the presence it lends to art exhibitions, it is something I have always cherished.

Colorful Giant Mushrooms

Nineteen colorful mushrooms were made in tandem with Muzeo Museum staff and artists for our “We’re All Mad Here : Tea Party & Make Believe” event in 2018.

The mushrooms were made with foam core, support wire, and paper mâché … then painted in acrylic onsite at the historic Carnegie Building in Anaheim.

Over time these mushrooms have been reinforced with layers of fabric/glue for proper strength, and repainted to be used for different installations ...

Such as on parade floats, in storytelling events and more!

“Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales” Light~Up Book

This oversized “Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales “ prop book measures 22X34 inches and was created with illustration board, foam core, fabric, and led light fixtures.

Completed book with colorful mushrooms in the background.

The book was featured in our 2019 Anaheim Halloween Parade float with our Charles Dickens character. The classic author was of course a master of bringing us timeless “Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales” to enjoy.

The book is open to the first page of our story, “The Locket”.

The translucent twinkling fairy lights glow in the front and back cover ovals.

Giant “Stardust” Music Box

This giant “Stardust” music box was originally created for our 2018 Anaheim Halloween Parade float.

It measures 20X30X10 inches and was created with illustration board, foam core, fabric, clay, acrylic, gold leaf and led light fixtures.

The handsome cat figurine was sculpted in clay by Mandy Rodriguez of Muzeo Museum based on the felted wool puppet in the Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales exhibit.

And was later painted by Geoff Mitchell to match the original … before being fit into place in the music box.

Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales ~ Entryway

This entryway into the world of “Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales” was created for our float in the 2019 Anaheim Halloween Parade.

It measures six feet wide by twenty inches tall and is made with faux painted one-half inch foam core, acrylic, wood and globe light fixtures.

In-progress work on the entryway.

Red Poppies On The Moon, 60X60”, Mixed Media and Acrylic on Panel.

The inspiration for this entryway and the float it was made for came from the painting, “Red Poppies on the Moon”.

Mary’s Poisoned Cake

Two poisoned cakes were created in collaboration with the staff of Muzeo Museum in Anaheim for our 2018 Anaheim Halloween Parade float.

One twenty-inch diameter cake to be featured as a fixture in front of the float.

And a sixteen-inch diameter cake to be carried and offered to the parade audience ... just for fun as these are made of acrylic and foam!

Fantasia Colorado, 20X20”, Mixed Media and Acrylic on Panel.

The inspiration for these props came from the painting and accompanying story, “Fantasia Colorado”.

Our two poisoned cakes in progress.

The cakes have also been featured with decor at some of our storytelling events!
